Since then, aircraft design has drastically evolved in many areas including the evolution of manual linkages to fly-by-wire systems, and mechanical gauges to glass cockpits. Lockheed Martin has been a premier builder and developer of manned aircraft and fighter jets since 1909. But I don't think most people are making it far enough to discover that.Ceebot 4 Full Version 37: The Best Way to Learn and Teach Programming in Schools and Colleges forcurati AugCeebot 4 Full Version 37: The Best Way to Learn and Teach Programming in Schools and Colleges What do you all think? I'm convinced there is a pretty deep and engaging game here, for anybody geeky enough to play a programming game (which should be most of us in the Unity community). Perhaps I should give them starter scripts which are easy to beat, but still show some activity, so if you load the game and hit the Play button, at least stuff happens. Right now, if it's the first time you play, all of the deer have a simple "Hello world!" script that doesn't do anything interesting. You and I may be guilty of the same thing!) ( this reminds me: I almost gave up on your Revenge of the Ghosts game before discovering that you need to click a ghost, then click where you want it to go. I think I may have committed the classic sin of expecting the user to spend a few minutes figuring it out. So if you know it's down to just you and one other, and you spot that other one, you can hit it as hard as you can, and not worry about being a sitting duck afterwards.īut, so far, nobody's jumping into the WIP thread to share their reindeer scripts. And to help make more informed choices, I also added a deerCount variable that lets you know how many deer are in the arena. I added a parameter that lets you control how much energy you put into a projectile - this really deepens the strategy, I think, because you face a trade-off between hitting hard, and leaving yourself energy-starved. (I believe the web player security restrictions will allow me to load those, as long as their on the same server.) I could also throw any script that makes it to the top of the hill in my own mini-tournaments up on my web server next to the app, and make those easily loadable from within the game. Folks can just paste their scripts there, and then copy them into their own games to try them out. When the game is ready to play, I'll start a separate thread for it, maybe over in the work-in-progress forum (or would General be more appropriate?). I don't know that I have time to set up a server before next week. Then you just Reset and Play, and see what happens! While the game is running, Edit will probably be replaced with something that lets you view the output console for each deer (though the last output message is also shown in the speech bubble).Īs for a leaderboard, I may have to just manually run that. where the Edit button by each reindeer will let you edit its name and source code. I haven't experimented with WebGL much yet, though I suppose I could take this as an opportunity. It's almost like the developers were like, "Hey player, it's painful to control multiple characters, isn't it? Welp, we have something that might help."Īlso, given that half of the game revolves around characters making Batman Gambits based on knowledge of other characters, the mechanic is thematically appropriate, too.Ĭlick to expand.I will probably do Unity plugin rather than WebGL. Also, in the lead-up to the break-in, you have to control two characters without Gambits. It sort of helps with the whole Paradox of Choice thing, because instead of the game dumping you with all the possible instructions in the language after the break-in to Rabanastre, you have room to learn to set Gambits properly. I also like how instructions can be bought and found during the course of the game. #5 - If Enemy HP < 30%, Summon Cu Chulainn (requires ability to summon) #4 - If Ally, Handkerchief (removes Oil status, can't be used on characters not afflicted with Oil) The instructions themselves consist of an overt condition (Ally HP 0 Potions in inventory) Instruction slots aren't a linear sequence, either, they're more like priorities your first slot is the highest priority, the second one slightly less important, and so on. The "Gambit System" revolves around "two" sets of things: instruction slots, and the instructions themselves. I'm with - I really liked how Final Fantasy XII approached the programmy-aspect of the game.
